Hey guys, Max Perzon here. And if you've never seen me before, I help both roofing and solar contractors to get more leads, more customers, and ultimately help them to scale their business to that next level by utilizing social media, Facebook advertising to get with our online sales system. And if you want to know more about that, you can head over to our website. If you're watching this on YouTube, make sure to like subscribe and leave a comment down below. But for today's video, I want to talk about how do you actually get started with social media marketing for your roof and the solar contractor business. So let's dive into it. So the first thing that I want to discuss is the platforms, the social media platforms, the big four. What are the platforms? Which platform is the best for your business? So let's dive into it.
So when I talk about the big four, I mean the big four social media platforms out there today. The first one is Facebook. And really this really includes Instagram, right? Because Facebook owns Instagram. So these are the first two or really the first one, right? So Facebook, Instagram, the third one is YouTube and that's owned by Google. Right. And the fourth one is linked in and that LinkedIn is owned by Microsoft. So these are really big four that we have to play with and they all kind of compete with each other, which is great. Some competition in there. So they're always trying to, uh, yeah, that means that the platforms are going to get better over time. Right. So that's great. So which ones should you advertise on? Well, for most part, Facebook and Instagram is the best. That's what I use for myself all the time.
And that's what all of our Rufus, all the customers use as well most of the time. So for, you know, insurance and retail, when you do residential, Facebook is great because a ton of homeowners out there are pretty much on Facebook every single day. Right? I think it's like 230 monthly active users on Facebook. Only in North America right now. So if you believe that you know, your target market is on isn't on Facebook, they are, you know, pretty much all age groups are on Facebook right now from small toddlers up to to older people as well. So Facebook is great for residential, both insurance and retail, right? However, if you're doing a lot of commercial, LinkedIn is actually quite good as well if you want to target businesses and so forth. Haven't played around too much with that, but I've heard other people had quite good success with it.
However, you can still do commercial advertising campaigns on, on Facebook and Instagram. I can get great results. YouTube. Yeah, it's, it's videos, right, too. You can do some of your branding there and retarget people, but videos, which is great. Uh, but mainly my recommendation is that you focus on, please book an Instagram ad simply because the competition on Facebook and Instagram right now compared to like the search engine, Google, right? Everyone is doing Google, everyone's doing paper click and Google SEO. So if you move over to social media and start utilizing Facebook and Instagram instead is trying to connect with the homeowners in your area, doing the advertising under your own brand and website, building a brand simultaneously as you advertise for leads, you know, you can share your videos there and images there. You're going to get a ton of great results. But really, you know, this video is all about how you actually get started with social media marketing if you have Sera followers and see our subscribers.
So now that we have that out of the way that you know who the big four are, you don't have Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn. Um, and you know what my recommendation is what platform to use. The second point, then I want to talk about it. Let's say you decide to go with Facebook and know how do you make the app asking yourself like, how do I actually get started if you have, if I have Ciro followers, a serious subscribers. Well, the truth is that you don't need any followers. You don't need any subscribers to get started with social media marketing because the truth is that, you know, a lot of people have this misconception about is that you know, you're going to do organic stuff, you're just going to post organic content on social media. You're going to do some posts on your Facebook business page and post some videos, some images, and you think that you're going to get leads from that.
And people have tested out, you know, start just started posting some stuff and they never get any results coming in. Right? Well the truth is that the organic reach on those social media platforms are becoming worse and worse and worse over time. You know, the organic reach on Facebook is really, really bad when you post something only like the closest people that you interact with on a weekly basis are going to see that content piece. So you can't really, you know, build a real advertising campaign by just posting content. And so even if you have like followers, not all of your followers is going to see or organic content neither. So if you have zero followers, if you have zero subscribers, that doesn't mean anything. You don't need followers and subscribers to the to do social media marketing. So that brings me to point number three and that is to do paid advertising campaigns on those social media platforms.
That's what I do all day for my own business. I'm building paid advertising campaigns on both Facebook and on Instagram. And I do direct response advertising campaigns on find new people. I'll call traffic. I find new roofing and solar contractors, decision-maker businesses, and I'm trying to get them to my business and I educate them about what I do and hopefully I, they become a customer. Right? But that's also exactly what my customers are doing. The roofing and solar contractors who keep them, how to build a Facebook advertising campaign and an Instagram campaign. Mostly Facebook though. And we show them how to build paid advertising campaigns on the Facebook platform so that they can find homeowners in their area that are actively searching for their services. So we showed them how to build the campaigns the right way and what to write in the ads. What images to use, what audiences to target, um, how to set up the entire system, how we have like an a complete advertising system in place for your business.
But really the little bit tricky part about Facebook and social media advertising is that it's not as easy as just, you know, paying for it. He word as you do on Google and the search and write or just trying to rank for keywords. What you have to do on social media and the Facebook advertising platform when you want to do advertising there is that you need to identify different audiences. So let's say you're a roofer in Florida for example, in your, around Orlando, and you're going to do an advertising campaign like let's say 40 mile radius around your office. Then you need to figure out how do I actually, you know, show my ads to people within 40 miles of my business and how do I find people that are actively searching for our services? How do we find people that are interested in the roof and placement?
Then how do we get them to contact us for a free estimate? And that's what we teach roofing solar contractors have to do. We give them exactly what audiences to target, how do you utilize AI, big data, machine learning and all of these cool technologies and how do we utilize that into, how do we implement that into our advertising so that we can find people in Orlando that are actually actively searching for those services. And then we want to serve those people ads. And once they've seen our ads, once we want to continue to show them ads over and over and over again. And that's really cool about social media that you know, we can both do that type of advertising and just, you know, getting our ads in front of people that are actively searching for our services. You know, instead of doing billboards and direct mail campaigns that you know are just old school stuff.
We can do that online with ads on social media. But then what we also can do on social media is to do the brand building so we don't have to do the TV commercials anymore and paid thousands of dollars on that thing and we can do the brand building and the lead generation simultaneously, all under your brand, all under your logo, under your Facebook business page. And that is why social media marketing is so, so powerful. It's crazy. And when you mix branding with direct response, lead generation, advertising campaigns, you know it's, yeah, that's how you go from low seven figures to eight figures in less than 90 days as one of our customers do or go from $130 duplicate leads to 10 to $15 exclusive leads by moving over to Facebook and embracing social media. So yeah. Just to recap cap really quickly, you know, the big four, the the platforms, which one are we going to use?
If you're residential, I recommend Facebook and Instagram. If you are commercial, I still recommend Facebook and Instagram, but you might want to test LinkedIn to, to focus more on from businesses as well. Right. Point number two was you don't need any followers, you know, you don't need any organic reach or subscribers and anything like that. You can do everything under paid advertising campaigns. And the third one that we discussed was actually paid advertising campaigns. What does it mean? What do you do? How do you build the campaigns? Who do you target? Why do you target different artists? And so forth. That fourth and final thing that I wanna discuss, um, that is really important if you want to view social media marketing, is that you need an online sales system in place, way business. And more than that, you need to prove an online sales system in place for business.
So when you start to do social media marketing for your roof, the solar contractor business and you start to build those campaigns and you start to show ads to the homeowners in your area and people start to request re estimates for example, and you start to generate leads. You know, people opt in with Navy Melind phone number an address, um, and they, they want a free estimate. They want to get in contact with you guys because they seen your branding videos in your ads and so forth. What do you actually do with that information? Where do you store the lead? How do you save that information in, in a CRM system somewhere? How do you send out confirmation emails and text messages to the homeowner? You just, just confirming that you received the information. How do you take that information and distributed to your [inaudible], to the right sales guys within your business and how do you do the followup process?
You know, the money is in the followup as a lot of people say and it is true, right? But you don't have to do that manual anymore. Since we have like marketing automation and machine learning and AI and stuff like that, we can automate the followup process and do it in a nice way instead of just cold calling people and being, you know, trying to door knock them and just being, you know, annoying. We can automate the followup process in a very nice and very sophisticated way. So we can do that with text messages and with email. But we can also do the followup with online ads. So when someone has seen your ad, just ones instead of just calling them over and over and again, so they just get annoyed by you, we can follow them around on the internet, show them ads, show them YouTube videos, show them Instagram ads, throw them Facebook ads and just trying to retarget them as it's called, tried to get them back to our business if they did not convert.
So you can do a bunch of cool stuff on online today and you can advertise to people the way that they want to be advertised. You know, people are spending time on this thing like it's insane how much time people spend on this thing. They're walking with the gnosis down in their phone all day. Right. And you know, they're, they're on Facebook, they're on Instagram and they're on YouTube and they're on Google searching for the different sites. So you want to appear on this thing. This is the new TV, the new radio on the new magazine, the new news source. And I was on a call with the roofer yesterday and he told me that, you know, yeah, I'm still, however, however I'm still going to do some TV commercials. Right. You know, truth be told, max, you know, not everyone is on Facebook. You know, some of the older generation is still watching a lot of TV and about, I told him like, you know Mike, let's call him Mike.
You know, Mike, I think you would be surprised by knowing how big range of different people that are on Facebook every single day, you know, from young people to the older generation. My grandmother is on Facebook every single day. My parents is on Facebook every single day because they want to see what happens and that then, you know, the older generation also, they love images. They love to see videos from, from their friends and family. So why wouldn't they be on Facebook? My grandmother has an iPad, she loves that thing to interact with her friends and family all the time. So don't think that, you know, it's just a certain age group that are on social media. Everyone is on social media. And you can just look up the statistics for fate or Facebook and see how much money, monthly active users they have in North America. It's insane. It's like 220 million or something like that.
So don't believe that you need to do TV commercials anymore. Direct mail campaigns, just for branding purposes. You can do all of that on social media. You can do the direct response advertising campaigns and the branding and it's going to be a lot cheaper, 10 times more powerful. And it's, that's how you will elevate your business in 2020 and beyond. You know, because this is where the market is moving. Everyone is moving on this thing. You cannot stop it. You can continue to do TV commercials if you want to, but that isn't dying platform. This one is a rising platform. So the sooner you can adapt to this thing, the better. So that's it for today's video. You know the main thing, but with this video, you don't need any followers or in subscribers to do social media marketing. You just need to know how to set up an online sales system and how to do paid advertising and pain on Facebook and Instagram the right way.
And if you do that, and if you figure that out and we teach you how to do that on the truth and.com our website. But when you do figure that out, you're just going to have a ton of fun because it's automated and you just going to be able to scale your business a lot quicker, a lot sooner, and have a lot of fun in the process and you're going to run laps around your competition that hasn't figured this out yet. So that would be it for today's video. Thank you so much for watching. Make sure to like subscribe if you're watching this on YouTube and yeah, thank you so much. Have an awesome day.
