But for today's video I just want to break it down how you should scale your Rufus, all the business to that next level by utilizing online marketing. So let's dive into it. I'm just going to skip the reasons why you shouldn't do offline and Legion stay at sites and know doing all of the these old, old fashion advertising methods.
I'm sure that you're aware of that everyone is walking with their noses down in this thing like 24 seven hours days. This is where the market is. This is where the market is spending their time consuming content on social media and you know, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and all of that stuff, right? And if you know, all the age groups are doing this from small toddlers up to, you know, people are AB 80 years of age, you know, everyone is doing spending time on this thing or iPad, right? So I'm not, yeah, that's just the truth of it. So my tip number one, if you want to scale things online, is that you need an automated online sales system in place for your business that you own and control yourself. So what do I mean by that? Well, if you're going to start to doing online advertising, you're obviously going to start to generate leads for your business from online sources, right?
Whether if that's from Facebook or from Google, from Instagram, or from YouTube or whatever it is that you're doing, right? You're going to start to get leads and prospects, potential customers that are showing interest into your business, coming to your website or coming to your Facebook business Patriot. So you're going to get leads coming in. So what do you need is that you need an online sales system. You'd need like a portal that can handle all of this traffic as it's called. How do we save the lead into a CRM system? How do we send out a confirmation email or a text message to the homeowner or potassium potential customer? How do we send out the information to your sales reps or to you, the business owner so that you actually can call the owner a homeowner and you know, do the, qualify them and ask some questions, hopefully set an appointment and so forth.
Right? And even before that, how do you actually even collect information? How do you have a form somewhere where people can opt in with name, email, phone number, and address for a free estimate, for example. And you know if, if they don't answer or if you, or if you don't set an appointment initially, how do you follow up with them? How do you automate that? How do you send an email or a text message once a day or an alter? Finally, how do you do retargeting? So how do you keep showing people ads online that a senior brand just wants, if someone comes to your website or see your Facebook ad or come to your Facebook page, just once, what you can do online nowadays is that you can continue to show those people ads every single day. Facebook, Facebook ads, every single day, Instagram ads, every single day. Google display banners, every single day, YouTube videos every single day.
So you can follow your target market at around. And that's how you just build that brand awareness and um, and just, you know, build that emotional attachment to homeowners in an area so that you can sell more easily. You have higher conversion rates and just build that brand awareness with which is super, super important. Right? So that's really the first thing that you need to figure out is that how do you get an online sales system in place? But more importantly, how to get an automated online sales system in place with marketing automation so that you don't have to run this system manual in log in every single day and do bunch of tedious manual work. You don't want to do that because you can just automate. You can have it streamlined at and systemized. You can have computers doing the heavy lifting for you so you just get leads.
You can just call them and then you can just feel calm and relaxed and happy because you know that the system is just running for itself, which is awesome. Then so that's the first, the first thing you need an automated sales system in place and we show you exactly how to do that on leads. roofing.com is the second thing that you need to figure out or do if you want to scale your business online, your roofing solar business online nowadays is that this is a fact or, yeah, it's at least my opinion of the being in this industry now for over three years helping roofing and solar contractors with online marketing and that is that Facebook is a lot better than Google when it comes to online marketing. Why? Simply because Google is so competitive. Everyone is doing Google ads ever doing is doing per click and SEO, right?
Every one is doing the maps and all of these things right on Google, pretty much everyone has a website. That's what we're going to solar industries you are going to appear on Google automatic, right to Google is so competitive right now in the roofing and solar industry everyone is paying and trying to rank for these keywords. You know, roof for Dallas Fort worth or whatever city you are might be living in. So it's so competitive on Orwell and Google is not what it used to be like just logistical like one or two years ago. Like if you, if you've been on Google doing Google ads the past two years, you know that the prices were a lot cheaper and the quality of the leads were loved better just two years ago. It's a lot more competitive right now. A lot of people are doing Google, so it's saturated and LA, LA, LA, LA, a lot of tired people leads and so forth.
So Google is competitive, expensive takes a lot of time. Everyone is doing SEO, everyone has an agency doing pay per click and SEO for them. So it's so competitive there. And then you compare that to Facebook and if you do Facebook and social media on those other platforms, the competition there right now, you cannot even compare it to mobile because most people are doing Google, not a lot of roofing in all contractors have transitioned into social media, Facebook advertising yet. And that means that the competition is lower. You can get better results quicker, you can get higher quality leads for cheaper prices. And another thing on social media is that you can share videos and images and social media and they have a ton of users as well, which means that you can do brand building and advertising simultaneously. You can generate cold new leads.
I know generating free estimates or people that are interested in your business simultaneously as you warm people up with your branding videos in a branding, images and so forth, that's something that you cannot do on Google. So Facebook and social media advertising just trumps, uh, Google doesn't even compare in my opinion, but at the end of the day, it's up to you if you want to continue and compete on Google, totally fine. I don't think that you should escape Google completely, but you should definitely put most of your advertising dollars into Facebook and social media and then share it. You can do some whatever you want on Google. At least appear there, right? But so that's a, that's the second thing. My second tip is that Facebook is a lot better than Google. The third thing is that you should do social media retargeting. If nip, you don't know what retargeting is, then you're missing out big time because retargeting is probably the absolute most powerful advertising method or technique that you can do online nowadays.
And it's most powerful and it is the cheapest ones. So what retargeting is is that if someone just comes to your website just once or spends just a second there and it doesn't matter where they're coming from, they might come from your Google ad, from your SEO, it might come from your home advisor page or Angie's list page, or from your direct mail campaign or your yard sign, your your wrapped car. It doesn't matter if, if they just go to your website or your Facebook business page for example, and they just spend one second there is that, then you can save those people and you can start to show those people ads every single day on all social media platforms essentially. So, and that's how you build your own audience. You can see like you have your website here, then you have a bucket here.
So if someone comes to your website for one second, you save them into your bucket and you keep doing that to save more and more people in your own bucket. And then you can take this bucket, you can give it to Facebook, to Instagram, to YouTube, you can give it to Google as well. And you can just tell Google and all of these patterns, Hey, I have a bucket here with a bunch of people that have been to my website. I want you to show those people ads every single day, all the time. So that's what's called retargeting. You can just keep nurturing those leads over and over and over again. Vint your brand. So social media is great for that. Again, you know, because on Facebook and Instagram you can actually show images and videos, right? And you can do that in an ad format. So you can, you can, you can do just branding videos if you want to not pitching anything.
Or you can do those branding videos mixed with an offer for a free estimate, for example. So retargeting and social media is huge and it's super, super cheap as well. Simply because your, your just advertising to your own audience. You're not asking Facebook to give you an audience. You essentially give them an audience and tell them, Hey, I want to show those ads exactly to just those people. That's why it's cheaper. But that's why also it's super, super powerful because you're only advertising to people who already know you. So that's how you stay relevant in this build that brand awareness. So if you're not doing retargeting, you should definitely do that on social media recent or my tip number four on how to scale your roof from a solar contractor business online in 2020 is that you should start small with a proven system and then scale.
So what do I mean by that? Well, first of all, you have this online automated system in place. You move over to Facebook and you start to do Facebook ads, and what I always recommend is don't go all in initially, but you might be bigger with a company and you might want to spend a ton of money to it, but it's, you need to be a little bit more sophisticated, special in you're starting out when you have, when you've never done Facebook ads or so what I always recommend is that if you can start with $2,500 per month, that's perfect, that's great. Then you might be just do that for like three months or something like that. Just to, you know, get a hang of it. You need to know how to build the campaigns the right way, how to distribute your, your ad spend so that you don't bet all of the advertising dollar dollars on one ad, you know, AB combination.
What we do at lead true from the comments that we show you how to build the campaigns the right way, specifically for the rudeness or industries or what right in the ads, what audience to target, but also have to structure the campaigns, which is super important because you need to test different things. And then it might sound confusing, hard or boring to testing, but it's super, super simple and easy and that it actually fun. You just need to know how to, how to do it, how to just structure it. So you might do a few different combinations and then you see what works and what doesn't work. So you might do eight combinations, six might fail initially, but to work really well, then you just delete the six that didn't work and then you start duplicating the two. That did work really well. And that's how you get better and better and better at it.
And that's why you should start small with a smaller ad budget. Get a proof of concept in place. You need to know that it's working. But when you find a winning combination in our area that you know is working with the good, that's how you just, then you can just, you know, throw fuel on it and just, you don't do a marketing firestorm essentially. So one of our customers, you know, they start out, so P a solar or Nolan's roofing for example, they started off with on one area with like $3,500 dollars per month. Now one of them are spending close to $20,000 per month. And that's the cool thing about when you have an automated online sales system in place, because spending $3,500 per month and generating X amount of hundreds of leads every single month is going be just as easy to handle from an operational point of view.
You know, putting people into, to the CRM system, that online sales system, you can crank it up how much you want to, it's not going to be a more time consuming to handle that part. Obviously you need more salespeople and more people to actually deliver and stuff like that. Right? But that, we don't have robots for that yet, but at least the marketing part is not going to be more time consuming if you spend $3,500 per month or $35,000 per month, that's just going to run, uh, as easily. Anyways. So, uh, that's my tip number four, start small and then scale. My tip number five is that you should take advantage of this new technology that we have, you know, artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data and marketing automation. And if you're not utilizing that now, you should, especially now in 2020, this is now when you really can take, take advantage of it and really get momentum from it because not a lot of your competitors are using it now.
So in this automated online sales system, you obviously have marketing automation, which is just gonna. That's just a huge, um, if you have that in your competitors, don't you just going to have a huge advantage over them. But then also what you can do with artificial intelligence and machine learning and big data is that you can start to advertise only to people in your area area that aren't just actively searching for your services. So you want to advertise mostly to people that are looking for a roof right now and you want to be in front of them and be able to show them ads. Obviously normally that suit kind of small portion of the entire market. So your ad, you obviously want to spend some time on those people, but you also want to do spend time and money and effort on with online ads and people that might be interested, right?
So you want to do a mix of both. And that becomes a question like how do you do that? How do you find those people? How do I know who those people are? How do I even utilize AI in big data and all of these things? Well, the truth is that you just need to know how to utilize it from these biggest advertising platforms out there nowadays. So big data is essentially like, just think of it like a robot that knows everything about everyone that is Facebook. You know, Facebook has like 240 or a million active users in North America right now or something like that. And they know everything about their users. It's not just name, email and phone number. They know so much more. It's kind of scary that they know where you've traveled to then know who you're talking to, they know your search patterns to know what websites you're visiting, they know what you like to do and watch and what, what you spend, what your interests are.
They know more about you than properly. Or they do know more about you than you know about yourself. And that's called big data. And then they have like AI and machine learning to kind of, uh, to handle this data. How do you like structure it? How, how do you pull up the right people at the right time and so forth. And that's what you have artificial intelligence and machine learning too. And if you know how to utilize that for your advertising, you know, you can just do targeting online that your competitors can on do and machine learning and marketing automation and all of these things in AI makes it simple and you save a ton of time as well. So you should, if you don't know how to utilize that yet and, but if you do want to utilize it in, if you want to learn more about it for me, this all the business and if you want to take your roof in a solar business to that next level, you should hand over to our website, literally from the Congo.
We talk a lot more about this and we show you exactly step by step, click by click, how to utilize it in a very simple and easy but powerful way. So yeah, that's it for today's video. Let's just do a quick summary. So how do you actually scale your written solid business online in 2020 reason being number one, it is an automated online seal system to Facebook ads. It's better than Google ads, three social media retargeting. You need to know how to do that. If you don't, you need to figure that out for start small and then scale five. You need to take advantage of this new technology, AI, and machine learning and so forth. So that's it for today's video.
