So basically in today's video I want to just talk about five different ad advertising methods, specifically for the roofing and solar industry that I recommend that you stop using. And I have some notes here in front of me. Um, so let's dive into it. So the first advertising method that I highly recommend that you stop using and I'm sure that you've tested it and I'm like 99% sure that you don't like it. And that is utilizing third party lead insights. And I'm specifically talking about home advisor, uh, you know, porch and this list and all of these different ones. And we all know that home advisor is not what it used to be prior to 2012 when they were called service magic. You know, nowadays the leads are expensive and they're duplicate, right? So when you get a lead from them, there's like four or five different contractors that receive the leads and when you call them and trying to get ahold of them, you know, like four other contractors are doing the same and they're spamming the leads or the homeowners with bunch of text messages and emails and it's just, it's just bad.
And on top of that, it's super expensive, right? So it's like between 80 to $130 per lead, which is insane with our system. We help both roofing and solar contractors to get exclusive leads on Facebook for between 10 to $20 a sometimes between 10 to $15. So it's a huge difference. So exclusive leads for cheaper prices compared to home advisor like duplicate and soup to break expensive leads. Um, and to know more about our system and just go to our website leads through from dr calm, but also like the biggest problem with those Legion sites such as home advisor is that you're doing the advertising under their brand and on their platform. So you're not building your own platform and you're not doing any brand building simultaneously as you advertise for leads. And that's a huge mistake actually. You don't know, you're not building your own CRM list.
You can't, we target those people online and it's just a bunch of problems. It, so if you're doing home advisor now, stop it. There are a lot better other marketing methods that you can utilize in 2020 and beyond. The second thing that I recommend that you stop doing in terms of advertising for the roofing, your solar industry is Google, right? What should I stop? Google? Well, my recommendation is this. So everyone is doing Google advertising specifically in the roofing industry. Everyone is doing SEO and pretty much everyone is doing pay-per-click. And what happens when everyone does something, it's very competitive. The prices go up, it's hard to get results and it's just overcrowded. Everyone is doing SEO and everyone is doing PaperClick. I, you know, SEO can actually be quite good, but you shouldn't rely upon it. It shouldn't be your main, your main objective to get leads in doing SEO as a combination to a paid advertising system can be good.
Um, it can work really good actually if you rank on top of Google. But we all know that, you know, SEO can take a bunch of time. They can take, if you've never done any, any, uh, link-building or any on page SEO or off BHS, your for your website ranking top three on Google might take you at least six months. That would be a quick race. I would say probably like 12 months. And I've been doing SEO since I started out with online advertising and I've been doing Amazon affiliate marketing quite successfully in racking websites, generating hundreds of thousands of visitors to websites. So believe me, I am a believer in SEO, but it shouldn't be your main, then you have leads coming into your business because you can't rely upon it. If Facebook updates their algorithm, all of your leads are gone. So when I recommend is that you have the paid advertising method in place for your business that is predictable and that you can rely upon.
You know, when I spend X amount of dollars, I'm going to get this many leads and I'm going to close these many customers. And that's exactly what we teach you at leads through from the calm, how to do very successfully, uh, on the Facebook advertising platform. So, and the difference between Facebook and Google and why I don't recommend Google is first of all, it is so competitive, right? So when you move over to Facebook, the competition on Facebook, specifically for the roofing, your solar industry is pretty much nonexistent when you compare to Google. So that's why I don't recommend Google. I recommend Facebook and stand and learn how to do this because if you learn how to do it, you will have a huge competitive advantage and you will get higher quality leads, cheaper leads and uh, you will just be able to scale your business a lot quicker.
So let's move on to the third thing, advertising method that I do not recommend. And that is TV and radio commercials and print basically offline marketing methods, right? And you know, team or radio commercials can be very, very expensive. And when you compare those offline marketing methods such as print as well, you know, direct mail or magazines or billboards or uh, you know, yard signs or whatever. And I might be right, it just, it's so bad in comparison to an online advertising system that is predictable. Uh, that is run by marketing automation and computers. You can like automate the entire system and we teach you how to do firstname.lastname@example.org is warm. You know, when you have an automated system with AI and machine learning and big data and marketing automation and you can get leads with predictability and you compare it to like a TV and radio commercial campaign, which is super expensive.
You cannot track anything. So you don't really know where the leads are coming from. You can only like ask your leads on the phone like, Hey, where did you find out about us? And you can kind of get an idea of where the leads are coming from, but it's not even close to, you know, a direct response advertising campaign on Facebook. So yeah, you know, it's expensive and you can't track anything. It's, it's hard to scale and print. Yeah. Doing a direct mail campaign to existing customers might be a nice thing to do. But what I'm trying to say here, you shouldn't have to rely upon it as your main advertising method. There are so many better advertising methods that you can do nowadays. The fourth one that I don't recommend that you do is to rely upon call centers and door knocking and, uh, they're all still a lot of groupers out there that ends solar companies as well that rely upon door knocking.
And, uh, I guess it's mostly like insurance based companies, you know, when a storm hits or a whatever and I might be right, but you know, it's so old school, you know, no one likes to be cold called anymore. When I get a call to my phone that I don't recognize, I never answer it. And if someone knocks on my door and I, if I see a salesperson out there, I am never going to open it. So everyone isn't living with their noses down in their cell phones right now and they don't want to be door knocking or cold calls. So if you're doing that, maybe it's time for you to adapt to this online advertising world. Uh, it's, it's gonna help you tremendously. It's going to systemize your business. It's gonna save you time and your customer is going to love you more. They're not going to be annoyed by you when you knock on their door.
Then the fifth advertising method or technique that I don't recommend that you should stop doing is to hire marketing agencies to do the work for you. And you might be what? But let me explain. So more often than not, when you hire a marketing agency to do the work for them, first of all, they're more, most more often than not generalists, right? So they helping every, every industry with every type of service. So what I mean is they might help rivers, it's all the companies, but they also help dentists. They also help in gym, um, like yeah, gym facilities. And they might also help like financial type of services, you know, accountants or whatever not might be right. So they help everyone and then they do everything for everyone. So they do SEO and Google pay per click. They do Facebook ads, they do content marketing, they do inbound marketing, outbound marketing, and they do everything.
And the problem with that is that it's impossible for them to be best at everything. You know I, I've only helped the roofing and solar contractors with Facebook ads. Trust me, that's enough. If you're going to be a specialist on one thing, you will have to spend a lot of time on that. If you're trying to be a specialist on everything to everyone, it's impossible. So that's why most roofers and solar contractors out there, when they hire those generalist advertising agencies, they never get results. They pay a bunch of money and they're just sick of it. Right. I'm sure that you have experienced that. A lot of roofers that I talked to are just tired of hiring marketing agencies because they never get results if it costs a bunch of money and so forth. Another thing with marketing agencies is that if you hire a local marketing agency, they are probably helping you, right?
If you hired them, hired them obviously, but sometimes they are helping a haul of your competitors as well. So all of you guys are paying the same guy to try and rank top three on Google for example. It's just insanity. So what I recommend that you do is that again, now that we have marketing automation and we have artificial intelligence and machine learning and big data, you can set up a system for your business that you can run in house, but it's automated. So you, you, you don't need a marketing expert. You just need someone to show you how to set up a proven system that pretty much runs for itself. The only thing you have to do is to check on the system, like once a day report on the numbers, know how much money did we spend, how many leads did we get in home, how many customers did we close?
So you know, your ROI, you know, down to the dollar every single day. And obviously when the lead starts to come in, you get them in your phone or in your email of your text message or an email, we can also send the leads fully automatically to your sales reps if you want to do that. You can just call the leads and you try and set an appointment and so forth. Um, and, um, the homeowners will with this system also be expecting your call. It's not like you're cold calling them. You're calling leads and homeowners that are expecting your call. Then everything else is automated. And that's exactly what we teach you how to email@example.com.
