Hey guys, Max Perzon here and welcome to this live stream video. This is my first live stream video ever. And in today's live stream I want to talk about HomeAdvisor for the roofing and solar industry should use it. You do not use it. Let's discuss it.

Anyways. In today's live stream, I want to talk about home advisor. So, uh, the way I want to do those live streams is that I have a topic prepared in my nice little notebook here that I got from my mom. You always have to mention her, your mom. So it's always good to have notes as well. But anyways, let's talk about home advisor. Is it a good option for you in your roofing and solar business? Um, and lead gen sites in general? Well, the short answer is no. And the long answer I would say is absolutely effing know why. I'm sure that if you're a roofer you're probably utilize home advisor, uh, sometime in the past. And you probably know that home advisor is not what it used to be prior to 2012 when they were called service magic. You know, nowadays the leads are expensive, they are duplicate and they don't build any brand, uh, build your brand in any way.
Right? So, you know, I talked with a bunch of roofers and I've heard some horror stories, right? They spend $2,500 per month or $3,000 per month on home advisor and they get like one or two leads per month if that. So it's crazy. It's so bad when you compare it to the type of advertising that you can do nowadays on social media to get the, with a, you know, a direct response advertising system. And you can also do branding simultaneously, which you have never been able to do before. Uh, four for good prices at least, you know, TV have been so expensive, right? But now on social media you can like show a eight minute clip to a viewer on YouTube for like a couple of cents and um, so you can do that branding part very cheaply and very effectively with retargeting campaigns and so forth. And then you can have a direct response advertising campaign, uh, going as well.
And by direct response, I mean that you can track everything. You know exactly how much you pay per lead, you know exactly how much you pay per click. And per new customer and so forth. So you can do that direct response. And you can also do the branding part simultaneously on social media. And that's when you can just scale, uh, scale your business a very, very fast. And we have a bunch of testimonials from our customers on our website. So again, make sure to check that out if you want to see those in our free training as well. But back to home advisers. So you know, home advisor is not what it used to be prior to 2012 when they were called service magic. Uh, you know, now the leads are between 80 to $130 per lead, right? But really in, they are duplicate as well.
So when you get a lead, like up to five other contractors receive those leads as well. But really the biggest problem with home advisor, I would say that it's on, you do the advertising on their platform, right? You're not doing the advertising under your own brand and under your own website. So you cannot do any brand building and you can't get that snowball effect over time. That is um, so powerful. So the guys who make the money when you do advertise on a third party platform is the platform, right? So home advisor's probably been making most of the, uh, most of the money right there. And um, yeah, when you compare home advisor, those duplicate and expensive leads to social media marketing under your own brand and under your own website, eh, it's a, it doesn't even compare, right? Because everyone is living on this thing right now.
Everyone is like here, 24, seven. This is the new TV. This is the new radio. Instagram is the new magazine, right? Um, Facebook is the new um, newspaper as well. Everything else is on social media. So if you could figure out how to get to do the advertising the right way in your area for roofing this all the business and appear on this thing instead of a just appearing on a third party platform like home advisor, you have a huge competitive advantage. And then the question also becomes an, I talked about this in yesterday's video. Like should you do Google or home advisor or Google or Facebook, sorry. And in my opinion, Google lacks a lot of as well, you know, SEO paper click simply because you cannot, um, you cannot show in a video stare on the search page. You cannot do the brand building.
They're neither. So, and also the competition on Google right now is so competitive and everyone is doing SEO. Everyone is doing PaperClick. So because of that, um, it's very expensive. It's very hard to get results and competition is just crazy. So if you move to Facebook for example, and figure that out, and not only do you get less competition because pretty much no roofers doing advertising on Facebook right now, so you can get cheaper leads, higher quality leads and get better results. Um, since we have a lot less competition. But now you can also combine the direct response advertising, um, with the branding and you can do both of them online. So you can have, uh, advertising campaigns running where you track everything. Eh, and for those of you guys that are listening to this and thinking that this is like too hard to implement, it's really not because now we have no one.
We have all this beautiful technology, um, you know, we can set up an advertising system for your business that is pretty much, it runs automatically so we can utilize marketing automation, machine learning and artificial intelligence and um, and it pretty much runs for itself. So it's like having a imagine having like a 20 person advertising team working for your roof in a solar business, but it's, and they are working in house but it's automated by computers. And um, pretty much the, the only manual work that you will have to do with the system like this is to call the leads essentially and like go and check on the system once per day just to make sure that you're, um, you know, how much money you've spent, how much did you pay per lead and how much did you pay to acquire new customers. So you kinda, you check on the system once per day, you, you write down the numbers, you make sure that it looks okay.
You receive the leads in your phone with email and text and you just call the leads. And this will be exclusive leads that are exclusive to you. No duplicate leads, like on home advisor. And the leads are lot a lot cheaper. So instead of having $130 home advisor leads that are duplicate, now we can start generating leads on Facebook for between 10 to $20 per lead and they're exclusive to you and you, it's the system runs for itself and you can do the brand building simultaneously also, which is insane. So the benefits when you figure out Facebook advertising and when you know how to do it the right way, the benefits of doing that, when you compare to home advisor, it's a, it's like night and day. It doesn't even compare.
