so I hope you're feeling good today. I certainly do. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's my fancy pants shirt or my hat leads Rubin had, I don't know, but I feel good. Maybe it is because we were gonna talk about artificial intelligence today because that's something that I'm super fascinated about. You know, AI and big data and machine learning and marketing automation and specifically how it affects advertising and how it affect advertising in the roofing and solar industry. This is exciting and new stuff. This is, these are exciting and fascinating times that we're living in. So that's what we're all about here on this channel. I just want to talk about this stuff so that you know about it and so that you hopefully can implement it to your business and just take advantage of it. So here's the question to you. What have I told you that Facebook knows more about you than your friends do?
Or what if I told you that Facebook knows more about you than your family does or heck, what if I told you that Facebook knows more about you than you do? And I remembered the first time I heard this, I was like, yeah, that sounds cool and all, but you know that Kent wish you'd be true, right? Facebook, they don't really know more about me than I do, right? But think about it like this. So you have your, you have your phone on your pretty much every single day, right? You search on it or you're on your computer, you talk to your friends, your family a, whenever you travel around, you have your phone with you and you might shoot some videos, you might take some photos. Uh, you have your GPS on. Um, you know, Facebook knows that they have, you have their, their app on your phone.
You have their cookie in your browser. So whenever you travel somewhere or brand, you search for something to shop or whatever. And I might be, Facebook knows about it. It knows who you're messaging, who you are talking to, who you're sending images to, they know everything. And the difference between Facebook and you is that Facebook remembers everything. You forget everything. We humans, we forget, I don't remember what I did seven days ago or who I talked to and not what I was thinking about buying Facebook. Do remember all of that. And they, the crazy thing about computers is that they not only know that about you, but they know that about all their users. And they have like 2.4 billion active users right now worldwide. That's not people who have signed up. And then never used a platform again. That's active users and that is insane.
I think it's like 250 active users in the U S or 200 million. I don't know, excited, but it's a lot of people. And when you combine Facebook, Instagram, that Facebook also owns, it's a lot. So if you accept that, that Facebook pretty much knows everything about everyone. That becomes very interesting in terms of advertising because when you come to as an advertiser to Facebook and when you know how to utilize this technology with AI and machine learning and when you know how to ask Facebook the right way to serve you to serve your ads to the right people, things get very interesting. So when you go to Facebook and you tell them, Hey, I want to show my ads to people that are actively searching for a roof or solar panels right now, it's not like there's a person on the Facebook side that says, yeah, right max.
I would just log into my computer here and find those people that would never work. You know, it's impossible to do an Emmanuel work and trying to go into all of this data and sorted out. And that's why they have the algorithm, right? That's like the, the overseeing I, you know, they have all their data and then they have like their algorithm who's kinda, you know, who knows everything about everyone. And this data is probably stored somewhere deep inside some servers, you know, they have this privacy thing going on, you know, but they have this tremendous data about the whole world. And then they have their algorithm who can, you know, find all this data whenever he wants it to. So that's the algorithm. And then the data is what we call like the big data. And the algorithm is powered by AI and machine learning and so forth.
It gets, it gets smarter over time and it can just do tremendous millions of things simultaneously. So it's very, very powerful. So when you know that the Facebook algorithm exists and when you know that the big data exists and when you know that you can utilize this big data and AI in your advertising by working together with this Facebook algorithm and when you know how to kind of work hand in hand with it and when you know how to build the campaigns on Facebook, the right way to start serving ads to people in your area that are actively searching for your services, you can get some crazy, crazy good results and things become easy for you. So just to drive this point home, I just want to talk about two different stories about our customers and how they moved away from, you know, this manual offline type of advertising.
And they moved over to Facebook together with our system and they started to utilize this AI and big data and what type of results they got. So the first one is a roofing contractor and they are a top 100 roofing contractor, like five years in the road now. So they were already quite big when we first started working with them. So they were doing like a $14 million or something like that two years ago. But back then they were doing team and radio commercials. They were doing Google. And what else were they doing? Home advisor. Yeah. So they were spending a lot of money on advertising. They were spending like 15 grand a month on advertising and they were getting duplicate leads from home advisor obviously for about $130 each and you know, TV, radio commercials, super expensive. They'd done, didn't even know how many leads they got from that.
They were like, yeah, let's throw out some money and see what happens. And Google, I think there was like $90 leads and Goldwyn or something like that. Then they moved over to Facebook. They learned how to utilize this big data with AI. And uh, also I think with Facebook is that pretty much no roof raise doing Facebook advertising. Right now everyone is doing, um, Google and all of these other Legion sites and offline marketing methods. So when you move over to Facebook, it's like an open field. So that's what they did. And now a couple of years later, now that they know how to work with the machine and know how to utilize the AI and big data, they have gone from $130 duplicate leads down to 10 to $15 leads by understanding AI in their algorithms. So that's like a huge crop and the cost per lead, but also the lead has become of higher quality.
So the leads are exclusive. They are generated under their own brand and under their own website and their closing ratio is a lot higher. So the went from $50,000 in monthly ad spend utilizing TV, radio, and Google and home advice right now that they're spending less than $20,000 per month in advertising, putting all of their dollars into the Facebook algorithm, into the Facebook advertising platform, and for spending less than half than previously. They're getting more leads, higher quality leads, and they are growing quickly. So as mentioned, they made $14 million in two years ago. Last year they made $27 million. So they double their eight figure business by moving over to Facebook and embracing this new technology that is going on right now. And that's exactly what we teach roofing, a solar contractors to do at our website. And that's what I'm super interested about. So that's somebody and we actually have a video testimonial from these guys that you can go and check out on our website as well.
Another story is a solar company and they were struggling. They had been around for like 20 years I think doing like electrical services and so forth. And um, they reached out to us and was like, Hey, what can you guys help us with? And I explained to them, you know, our system and Facebook advertising and the benefits and so forth. And they were skeptical, but they were like, yeah, let's try it out, what can happen. So we started out and we got some really, really good results for them. Um, and they started out spending like $3,500 per month, I think, or the, they were on Facebook. And now like how long has it been like, uh, like five, like 10 months or something like that. And now they're spending triple that and they went from low seven figures in total revenue to eight figures in less than 90 days.
And we also have a video testimonial from them on our website that you can check out, you know, crazy, crazy results because when you embrace this new technology and this new environment that we're living in, this new online environment where everyone is doing this, you know, this is like the new TV guys, everyone who's on this thing, 24, seven watching, it's better than the TV. So if you can appear here everywhere on this thing and people's computers to people that are actively searching for your services, that's how you just, that's how you embrace this new reality. It's crazy. And, but when you know how to do it the right way, advertising becomes spun, systemized, it's all automated and it's just taking your business to that next level. So, yeah, I think that's a huge business lesson that I learned as well as learn to how, how to adapt and how to embrace these new things.
Because that's how you get ahead of your competition. And instead of just resisting all of the new things, try and learn about it and embrace it. You know, when Henry Ford started to create the cars, people like, I don't want a car. No, no, no, no, no, no. I want a faster horse. I don't want a car. Cars and never going to be something. No, no, no, no. I want a faster horse. You know? So that's what people said. And Henry Ford believed in his vision and started to build cars and the rest is history, right? And that's how everything repeats. Now everyone is like, no, no, no. I don't want artificial intelligence. Like none of them. That's scary. Now I don't want that. I want them. No, no, no. You know, online marketing. Yeah. You know, I think I'm going to go ahead and continue with my direct mail campaigns.They are working, you know, like, or referrals, you know, I'm getting enough business from referrals. I'm just going to stick with that. I know that feels comfortable, right? But yeah, if you have ambition and if you, if you want to grow, start to learn about Facebook advertising.
