Should you use home advisor, Google or Facebook for your roofing or solar business.
Hey guys, Max Perzon here. And if you've never seen them before, I help both the roofing and solar contractors to get more leads, more customers, and ultimately help them to scale their business to that next level or utilizing social media, Facebook advertising together with our online sales system. And if you want to know more about that, we can head over to our website leads, roofing.com if you're watching this on YouTube, make sure to like subscribe and leave a comment down below today's video. I want to discuss Legion sites or home advisor, Google and Facebook, which one should you use? Which ones should you not use? Um, which one is best for 2020 and beyond. And in the future, bunch of questions. So let's dive right into it. So the first thing I want to discuss is home advisor or lead generation sites in general. And if you're a roofing solar contractor, I'm sure that you've tested those LinkedIn sites or I'm sure that you've at least heard about other people spending a ton of money into those lead generation websites on home advisor.
And like 99% of the people I talk to that are utilizing home advisor or poor tyrannis list or works or all, all of these other ones. Do they like it? No, they hate it. Why? Well it's duplicate leads there. Insanely expensive. They're like $830 $80 on the low, low, low at low end. The guy that I talked to yesterday, he was spending $160 per duplicate lead on Holton price there. And uh, you know, if he got five leads he could contact like one of them maybe. But most of the leads that you get from home advisor, nobody answers your calls. The leads are duplicated and they're super expensive and they're generated on during the home advisor website. Right. So you're not generating them under your own brand and under your own website you are missing out on that and tell your brand building part as well, which is essential now in 2020 so if you're currently using those lead generation websites seriously, just log in there today, stop them, don't spend any more money on them and go figure out social media marketing, which I will be talking about in here in a second.
And I have also heard, I talked to a guy yesterday as well and he also told me that, you know, home advisor almost kinda of tricks people into requesting free estimates because homeowners goes to home advisor and they just fill out their information there because they're kind of pitching, you know, we will give you a free pricing or something like that. They think that it will be some type of generator that they just put in their information and their address and home advisor will and magically kind of just give them a price auto-generated. So they don't think that this information will be sent in to contractor as a lead and they will actually call them. Uh, that's what I've heard. I have not checked that myself, but I've heard that we've been contractors tell me that it's kind of like that, that it's working and it's very bad.
So yeah, I wouldn't recommend that you Lise home advisor and other Legion sites for that matter under any circumstances. Adam. So enough about that in a [inaudible] home advisor. I think I made myself clear. Don't spend money on it. Save your money for God's sake. That brings me to option number two like Google, should you place Google free roofing the solar business in 2020? Well, the truth is this, right? Pretty much everyone is already doing Google. Everyone, pretty much all roofing is all contractors has a website. And because of that, you know, they also have like a Google my business listing and everyone knows about Google. So everyone is trying to rank on Google and everyone's trying to do Google paper click. And what happens when everyone does something? Well, it becomes, it's very popular. It becomes very competitive and when something is very competitive and when everyone is trying to rank for the same keyword and pay for the same keyword, the prices go up.
So the prices on Google ads and Google pay per click now compared to just like two years ago or even one year ago, it's not the same. The prices are just spiking because everyone is trying to do it. And also SEO the same thing there. Everyone's trying to rank for the same keyword. It's like three keywords or something like that that everyone is trying to ran for and whenever, once trying to rank for it, it's like super hard. The competition is high and pretty much everyone has an SEO agency hired. So it takes a long time to get results. You have to pay the agency that's helping you, a bunch of money techs who get results and you're not guaranteed to get and results, but you are guaranteed that it's going to take you a lot of, a lot of time. So yeah, you know, SEO and paper click can be awesome for different industries.
But specifically for the roofing and solar industry, like why would you spend so much money on SEO when everyone is doing it? If I had like a service or if I had a product that I was unique in selling in my area and nobody else would was doing SEO and nobody else were doing Google pay per click, was sure I would dive into it head first or feet first. Right? But if I'm a roof contractor and all of my competitors are doing SEO, why would I spend so much money to just compete there? It doesn't make sense. So yeah, if you already have a high ranking on SEO or on Google with SEO, awesome. That's great. If you don't, I wouldn't worry too much about it because you know the future is in social media marketing. And that brings me to point number three and that is Facebook should be utilize Facebook in 2020 and beyond, in my opinion.
Heck yes. Why? Well, simply because the competition is on Google. Everyone is doing Google, everyone is doing Google SEO, every click as you just talked about, the big portion off the roof and contractors, total contractors out there as well are doing those Legion sites. So if you can figure out social media marketing and move over to Facebook, which is working great right now for roofing and solar contractors, you have just escaped the competition to don't have as much competition, almost non in the roofing industry so you can get better. These exclusive needs that each are generated are non-New your brand and website a higher quality leads. The leads are exclusive. You can get cheaper leads. So instead of paying Google 80 to $130 per lead, um, you can get paid Facebook like 10 to $20 per exclusively generally generated on the door brand and website. So, and also an awesome fact about social media Facebook is that the average American currently spends between two and a half to three hours per day on social media.
Think about that. The average American all age groups. It's not only young people on social media, all age groups. The average American is currently spending between two and a half to three hours per day on social media. Some people are spending a lot more than that. And then also, you know, the average American Colonel turned to spends three hours plus per day on their phones. So yeah, three hours on this thing and then guaranteed two and a half hours on social media. So yeah, this is the new TV. This is the new radio. This is the new magazine business. The new new source, your market, the homeowners in your area. They are on social media, on Facebook every single day, two and a half hours per day. Why aren't you advertising there? It's very, very simple when you think about it like that. Your, your target market is on Facebook.
They're on social media guaranteed everyday, two and a half hours per day. But you're not there yet. You should maybe figure out how to do it right. So, yeah, I, I love Facebook and social media marketing simply because it works and it works so much better than the other alternatives. And if you want to know more about that and if you want to know like what type of results our customers are currently getting, how our system works, how you can implement it and get started today, you can just go to our website [inaudible] from the comm and we will hook you up and show you exactly how it's works and exactly how you can get started today. So that's basically it for today's video. I don't think I have to ramble on and more about it. So we have first home advisor, we had a Google and we had Facebook and social media marketing, uh, home and devices sucks.
Google is a little bit, a little bit better, but it's still bad. Facebook and social media marketing is the future of advertising as we know it. You better go figure it out because you're going to have a ton more fun. You're going to get better results, and you will be able to build your brand simultaneously, exclusively exclusive beats. And when you call the lead, the homeowner will actually know that it's you calling because they've seen your brand, your logo, and your videos. So it's not like a random roofing contractor that they've never heard about before. Trying to call them from home advisor and tried to close them cold, call them and close them so bad. So that's it for today's video. Hopefully you enjoyed it. Make sure to go to [inaudible] dot com if you want us to teach how to do all of this for free and how to show you how to implement it.
