How do you start generating exclusive leads or cheap prices simultaneously as you build your brand? Because that's really the cool thing about today's advertising in 2019 2020 and beyond is that we can do direct response advertising and we can do branding so we can build the brand and we can track our leads. And if that sounds confusing to you, it's really not. I'm going to talk about it in this video. So yeah, at the end of the day what we do is that we help roofers to implement the system that they can run themselves or rather we help roofers to implement the system that computers can run for them. And it's super simple. It's like plug and play system and so forth. But I don't want to talk about like our system because I know that Hey, you don't care about that. I just want to talk about how this type of advertising can help your business.
And if you like it, you know about it and you can implement it, whatever. Right? So I'm just here to, to answer your questions. So the roofers normally join our program and the roof for, and solar contractors normally contact us. They're typically struggling with either, you know, low quality and expensive meats and they're tired of advertising on, you know, home advisor and handle those other lead gen sites where the leads are expensive and duplicate, right? It's not what it used to be prior to 2012 when they would called service magic. Nowadays it's just insane, right? You get the lead and then the five other contractors to receive the same lead. And I've heard some horror stories about that. You know, people spending thousands of dollars every month and they get like one or two customers on the phone and it's just insane. They're also tired of Google, right?
Because it's Google, Google SEO and paper click is becoming, you know, more and more expensive all time. Why? Well, it's super competitive in the roofing and solar industry right now. Everyone is doing SEO, everyone is doing pay-per-click, everyone is having advertising events. He's doing, you know, keyword optimization, so forth. And what happens when everyone does something, it becomes very competitive and very expensive. Takes long time to get results and it's just a complete mess he has for me. They're all so tired of these offline marketing methods. Right. So you know TV and radio commercials, the old way of doing branding is super expensive. A TV commercial is just insane and pretty much no one watches TV anymore. This is the new TV. So how do you build branding on this then? We're going to talk about that soon. So they're tired of TV, radio commercials. They're also tired of this print type of advertising.
No direct mail or in magazines or billboards. And they're also tired of call centers and door knocking. Nobody likes to be torn out than one. I certainly don't like to be [inaudible] and if someone calls me and I don't know no the number and never answer it. And also those TV and radio commercials and direct mail campaigns, they can be super hard to track. Like was it this TV commercial that that got us all of the phone calls or was it that even commercial or was it this direct may flyer or was it that one? And since you cannot track it, since you don't have direct response put into it, it's pretty much impossible to scale you. You don't know what levers to pull and when you want to scale things. So that's a huge problem there. And also the roofing and all the contractors who normally reach out to us and want to know about a little bit more about what we do, they're also tired of hiring these marketing agencies to do the work for them.
Simply does. They've been ripped off so many times, right? They are more often than not overpriced and they're underperforming. And they're also tired of finding out that Hey, this local agency guy that I hired, they not only help me, but they help all of my competitors and competitors as well. So I'm trying to rank in Google, tried to get that first top three placements and I'm hiring this guy to help me just to find out that this agency guy, he's trying to help me to get [inaudible], but he is also helping all of my competitors to get tough. And it's just like, what's going on? It's insane. And also most of these agents, guys, most of these marketing agencies, guys, they are generalists. So they're helping like every other industry with every other service. Right? I'm sure that, I'm sure that you know about this, right?
When you go to the website, they're doing SEO, pay-per-click, Facebook ads, inbound marketing, outbound marketing, branding, websites, design, click funnels, landing pages. We do everything to everyone. So they help roofers, solar contractors, dentists, chiropractors, lawyers, CPAs, or do you know accountants there? It's, they are helping everyone with everything and then they claim that they are an expert on doing everything to everyone. It's, it doesn't exist. So that's why I and me and my team at lead's, we've been.com we only focused on roofing us, all the contractors, and we only helped them with one service. I'm, I've been doing that for years. And trust me, that's enough work to, to focus on one service and one industry. You cannot focus on 20 industries with 20 different servers. So, so, and ultimately what these are roofing us, all the contractors are tired of, yes they're tired of these advertising methods, but they're also tired of paying between, you know, 80 to $130 per duplicate leads.
And what they want is that they want to start to control their own advertising in house. They want to generate higher quality leads, they want to generate exclusive leads and they want to have a system in place that automates this process. So, you know, it puts the leads into a CRM system fully automatically so that they don't have to do any manual work. You know, pruning leads them to an Excel sheet or you know, putting people from the email inbox into the CRM system and manually they don't want to do that anymore. So they want to it like connect Facebook or connect the advertising to a CRM system so that they can get all of the leads into there automatically. Then they want to follow up or automate the followup process so they can send out emails and text messages to the leads. Fully automated.
No human has to do that. They also want to send confirmation emails and the text messages to your sales reps fully automated so that just, it's been lined and systemized. So it happens automatically done by computers. And then they also want to do the branding part for the automated and the followup process. So if a lead doesn't convert the first time, obviously you need to follow up with them, right? And we can automate that as well. So he wants a system like that. And when cheaper leads and when tire closet needs, and with our system we can do all of this and we can get leads for between 10 to $20, you know, sometimes between 10 to $15 and there were salts aren't insane. So again, this is exactly what we help roofing and solar contractors do. And we have some awesome testimonials on the website that I would highly, highly recommend that you check out.
But just to cover them here real quick. So one of our customers, they used to pay $130 per duplicate lead and they were used utilizing, um, home advisor in Google, mainly to bring more leads in. And then they were paying TV and radio commercials depended through the branding part and they were, they were already an eight figure business like two or three years ago, but they were spending like 50 grand a month on a hundred cases and they were getting duplicate leads for $130 each. So they had a lot of money, but they were, they were spending a lot of money on advertising as well. And it was working right. They were getting leads in there were known in their state and their area, but they were paying a fortune on it and they could not track anything. So they were kind of just throwing money at the wall.
The writers saw what kind of work, but they had no system, at least they had like no automated system in place. Feels kind of a mess. So $130 duplicate leads had no system in place. We implemented our system and they moved over to Facebook and utilized Facebook advertising instead. And social media. And why Facebook? Well, the competition off Facebook is pretty much nonexistent when you compare it to Google and homemade waiter. Pretty much no roofer is doing Facebook advertising right now the right way. It's a very, very small percentage of the entire market that has figured out how to do direct response and branding on social media, Facebook advertising. But we helped them to do that. So fast forward now to like this time, so over the period of like two years they've been used to utilizing our system with Facebook and social media for close to two years now.
What has happened? Well, pretty much immediately they went from $130 a duplicate beads down to the 10 to $15 exclusive leads utilizing Facebook and social media. So now they're spending, I think they're spending like 18 grand a month right now in advertising. It's still a lot of money, but they pretty much half cut their advertising budget in half more than that, from 50 to like 18 to $20,000 per month. They're getting exclusive leads, cheaper leads, higher quality leads, and these are homeowners in their area that are actively looking for their services. So they have higher conversion rates as well. So the midway from home advisor completely the move away from Google, if they're still doing some SEO, which is a good combination to that because they had already had a good ranking. So we're like, Hey, why not continue doing that? So, and um, and yeah, so they, they're spending less than half what to what they previously did.
They're getting more leads and they've grown their business tremendously. Two years ago they weren't all living in an eight figure business. Now they haven't doubled the eight figure business in total revenue per year. So it's insane. And now the guy that started utilizing our system, they were, we're an old company, they just sold a company. They were doing like electrical services for like 20 years or something like that. And they get dependent on, you know, word of mouth. Um, I don't think they would doing any type of online advertising at all, but they had started doing solar and then the customers in their area, we're really liking their services. So they was like, Hey, maybe we should try this thing. It's a little bit over our budget but let's, let's dive into it in testing. What happened? Well, they went from low seven figures to eight figures in the first three months.
It's insane. And we have a testimonial for from these guys as well. And um, damn. Now that expanded across the entire state and they also took the time and, and put time and money and effort into creating high quality videos for their business because now when they had the social media and Facebook advertising game in this system and figured out for their business, now they created high quality videos and content for their business that they could now distribute not on the TV but on this TV. And they could distribute it like nothing else. They could actually show it to people. So many people in their area for like sense like people watching their, their entire video for like five minutes instead of paying a TV, um, you know, distributed thousands of dollars. Now they could show the video on this thing on the phone, on all across entire souls from media, from just a couple of cents per view.
And the results are just insane. And they're really like paying, I think they're paying like $25 per lead right now, which is really good in their area for the women in solar industry, for the solar industry. Sorry. So yeah, it's a, what I'm trying to see is that those, all the advertising methods that I've just mentioned, you can do that, but it's expensive. It's competitive, it's hard work. It's tough. So what you should do if you have a roof on this all the business is that you should figure out the Facebook advertising stuff. You shouldn't figure out the social media stuff. You should figure out how you can do direct response advertising campaigns and how you can do the branding simultaneously because that has not when a bit um, possible up until this point, you know, back in the old days when David ogleebee and these uh, you know, direct response advertising geniuses back then it was like either you're branding guy or you are a direct response guy.
Right? And branding was super expensive because you had to do TV and radio and print and all of that and put it all over the Sandia or all over the nation. You had to do TV commercials and branding used to be super expensive. So the most, the best way was to do like eight direct response campaign. You send out flyers with different telephone numbers and different addresses on it so that you could track everything, you know exactly what ad performed the best. You could track everything down to the dollar. You know, if this car, if this phone started to call, you knew that Hey, that is that exact flyer that we send out two weeks ago. That one is working really well. The flyer that we send out three weeks ago, we are not received any phone calls from that ad or that flyer. So we're not gonna continue with that.
That's direct response. You can track everything. So you were either a direct response guy or you were in branding and these two teams were kind of, you know, I'm nagging at each other, Hey, you know, if you saw can no use our blah, blah, blah. The truth is that both branding and direct response is great. So now what we can do in today's modern era with our oldest technology and social media and Facebook advertising is that we can find the team, we can do both and we can do them super, super effectively for really, really good prices. Why? Because everyone is living here. This is the new TV, this is the new way. This is the new magazine, this is the new news source. Everyone is spending their time on this thing. So if you can figure out how to do that, direct response advertising and branding on this thing in your state, in your area, your roof from our solar business is just going to explode.
