Here are five reasons why every roofing or solar contractor should control their own advertising.

But for today's video, I want to talk about five different reasons why you should control your own advertising if you are a roofing or solar contractor. So let's dive into it. Reason number one is that you have a guarantee for exclusive leads. Well, think about it. If you control their own advertising system, if you own it yourself, it's a guarantee that you're going to generate exclusive leads to normal duplicate lead to know from lead generation websites or you know, duplicate leads from advertising agencies that promise you that you're going to get exclusive leads.
But then you try and when you try and call them and try to close them you quick, they'll understand that you know these leads are sold to multiple other contractors as well. So really, you know the biggest and most popular advertising methods out there nowadays is obviously those lead generation websites and our home advisor porch [inaudible] and his list. But another thing that is also becoming more and more popular from the ad from advertising agencies and very popular thing within advertising agencies now that's starting to pop is that they're starting to sell leads. A cost per lead type of contract, which are sounds real good for you as roofing a solar contractor. You find a good marketing agency and they tell you that, Hey, you don't have to pay us anything upfront. You're only going to pay us per lead. Exactly what those Legion sites are doing.
What they don't tell you is that those leads are not exclusive to you, so they're going to generate leads for themselves under their own brand and under their own Facebook business page, not under your brand and not under your websites. You're, you're going to miss out on the whole brand building part right there. The agency, the marketing agencies kind of generate a bunch of leads to themselves under their own Facebook business page and under their own brand, a website and so forth. Then they're going to distribute it and sell it to roofing contractors or solar contractors like yourself. Obviously they're not only going to sell it to you, they're going to sell it to five other contractors. So reason number one, why you should control their own advertising is that now you have in guarantee that the leads are exclusive and you can do the brand building onto your own website simultaneously as well.
And this is a huge, huge game changer and you might think that, Hey, I cannot do my own advertising. I cannot run my own advertising. Well you can. And it's, you know, now that we have computers and now that, that that we have artificial intelligence, machine learning, marketing automation and big data and all of these wonderful tools with technology, it's simpler than ever. It's easier than ever. You just need to know how to set up the system. And basically click play and that's what we teach you how to do at [inaudible] dot com but that's reason number one, you have a guarantee for exclusive leads. Recent number two, why you should control your own advertising if you are roofing a solar contractor, is that you can do the advertising under your own brand. So this one ties into the first point and why is this important?
Well, think about it. If you're going to go out there in your state and let's say you're going to advertise in a 50 or a 30 mile radius in your state, instead of having an agency doing that for you under their brand, now you can. If you own the advertising system yourself and you do the advertising under your own brand and under your own website, when you own the system yourself, you people, when you start to show ads to new people in your state or in your area, they're going to see your logo. They're going to see your business, they're going to see your videos, your images, they're going to see your brand. So you're going to build your brand simultaneously as you advertise for leads. And this is a huge game changer because if you just buy cold leads from a, from a lead gen site, or if you just buy cold leads that are duplicate from a lead provider, right?
The thing with those leads are that they are not warmed up at all. They're very, very cold as we call it. It's cold traffic, it's cold leads, they've never interacted with you before. They have no idea who you are. But if you control your own advertising and, and you do the advertising under your own brand, first of all, people are going to see that the advertising is made under your brand, onto your website, under your business, a local business, right? So they're going to see a cold ads and you're going to warm them up with your business. But you can also mix in high quality videos there as well, right? Like branding for branding purposes. So now you're building that brand awareness and that, uh, that getting that emotion, emotional attachment to your brand and your business even more, which kind of help you in the long run tremendously.
So that's reason number two. If, if you control your own advertising, you can do it under your own brand and under your own website. And there is no reason why you shouldn't do that in 2020 and beyond. You have to do the advertising under your own brand nowadays, man, it's essential. Recent number three, why you should do the advertising under your own brand and under your own website, or sorry, reason number three, why you should control your own advertising if you're referring a solar contractor, is that you own the system yourself. So what we teach our customers to do is that we, they don't have any type of licenses or anything. They don't have any attachment to us at all. We just teach them how to do it. We just show them, Hey guys, here's how you set up an online sales system for yourself.
Here's how you own it yourself. And here's how you run it yourself. They don't depend upon us at all. We just support them and help them. We just showed them how to set it up, how to click play with marketing automation and all of these beautiful technology, these things. And then they own this system themselves, which means that they don't depend upon us. They can just, we can leave and they will own the system forever and ever. Right. And this is not the case when you hire an agency to do the work for you, because more often than not, you know, they're going to have like a 90 day contract and you're going to sign the contract. They're going to come in, they're going to set everything up for you. They're going to install the CRM system, the marketing automation, they're gonna set up the Facebook business manager, they're gonna set up all of the campaigns.
They're going to create all of the ad copy, the CRM system that they're gonna create everything for you. And then they're going to run that for you. But if you decide to stop working with those guys, they're just gonna on install everything, take everything and leave essentially. So you don't own the system yourself. You might think that you do, but these guys actually, they've set up everything under their own logins and so forth with all of these different tools so you don't own the system yourself. That's another reason why you should control your own advertising is that you are going to own the system yourself, only controlling it yourself. You never guarantee for for exclusive leads, you can do the advertising under your own brand and you own the system yourself. It's just win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win. Reason number four, why you should control our own advertising if you're a roofing or solar contractor, is that technology or marketing automation makes it super, super simple.
You know now when we have computers and all of these machines, you know we can automate pretty much like 95% of all of the advertising out there. We can automate everything and it's easy. It's more easier than ever. And if you have a system like a plug and play system that is super simple to use as we have only triple.com you can do all of these things that are talked about and it's easy. It doesn't have to be hard at all. You might have an image in your head that you know if you're, you know you don't believe that you're an advertiser, you don't know what to write in a copy of what images to use, what audiences to target. You don't know how to set up the system and it might just overwhelm you, but it's really, really, really simple. If you have someone who shows you how to set it up, what to write in the ad for the images to use, what audiences to target, what CRM system to use, how to connect it to Facebook.
You know, it's super, super simple. You pretty much just click play. You wait for a couple of days, see the results, do some adjustments with a couple of days more, make some adjustments. Again, it's like 10 15 minutes daily commitment to do online advertising. If you add VIP, you automate everything and streamline everything and all of the followup process and all of the confirmation emails and are all of the confirmation text putting people into the CRM system, following up with people doing all of this retargeting and ads, you can automate everything. Everything is going to run for itself so that you can just sit back pretty much receive the leads into your phone in June, just call them and you have an automated sales and marketing system installed for your business. And this is how you can Excel in 2020 and get that competitive advantage because not a lot of Rufus, all the contractors out there has this, the not a lot of people own the system like this for themselves in the, and that's what we want to firstname.lastname@example.org so marketing automation, all of these tools makes it super, super simple and easy to run your own advertising if you just know how to set it up and click play.
Essentially. Reason number five, why you should own the control your own advertising system is that first of all, you're gonna save money. And you're going to save time, right? First of all, money is a big one. If you're going to hire an agency, you're going to pay them and Martin and I'm what's it's called, a fee just to do the work for you, right? And management fee is to far down, wasn't looking for. So the way I did it when we read and written ran our system as a service was that we took $3,500 per month per area just for the management fee. And we had the minimum fee for the client to spend at least $3,500 per month in cold ad spend. This wall. And we had a 90 day initial contract per area. So it wasn't quite hefty fee for, it was like businesses making at least two and a half million dollars per year that we took on.
Um, so it about $7,000 per month commitment per area. And if they wanted to expand to another area within their state, then it was another seven K month and we charged, we could probably charge more because our clients just were super, super accessed successful. And the ROI was insane anyways, so we made it work real, real well for them. But we still have some of our oldest clients to this date and people have went from spending $3,500 per month into our system. Now they're spending up close to $20,000 a month and people haven't gone from low seven figures to eight figures in less than 90 days and so forth. Increased results. But what I'm trying to say here is that if you're going to hire an agency to do the work for you as specialized agency or who only helps roofing solar in the industry and actually had some proof of concept and actually has proof to show you in testimonials and all of that, it's going to be at least $7,000 a month, probably more.
And to be completely honest with you, if it's a even better advertising agency who hasn't even more, uh, you know, clients or so forth, it might be eight or $9,000 per month or $10,000 per month to do this for them. But if you know how to set up the system yourself and how to run it yourself, [inaudible] system that we teach you how to use on [inaudible] dot com you know you're joined with a one time fee, get the system, you set it up and run it for yourself and then you don't have to pay an advertising agency ever again. You're going to save a ton of money. All of the money that you put into the advertising system, it's going to be pure advertising dollars and this system is pretty much free to keep running. It's like it's you need to CRM systems, marketing or marketing and so forth, but most of these things are super cheap.
It's like 300, $400 for a year, um, just to run the system. And then like 100% of the advertising dollars that you put into the system is going to go to ads, not to a management fee or anything like that. You, so by owning your own advertising system, you are going to save a ton of money, but you're also going to save a ton of time because everything's streamlined. Now, if you're utilizing marketing automation, online ads and all of these things, you know you're going to save a ton of time. You know it be compared to offline marketing methods, you know, sitting in creating a ton of direct mail campaigns or team or radio commercials and doing all of that nonsense. Or if you're going to do, if you don't utilize marketing automation, if you don't own the system yourself and you have to keep put people into the CRM system manually, or you know, if you have to do the followup process manually and all of that stuff, right?
It's takes a lot of time and effort and energy. But if you own the system yourself, you have a great system in place, then it's automated, you're going to save so much time, it's not even funny and you can just focus on the things that matter, you know, customer support, eh, delivery, making the best product and service in your area, all of that important things. Just making your business the best it possibly can be. Right? So that's pretty much it for today's video.
