But for today's video, I want to talk about three different things that six and seven figure roofing and solar contractors do that eight figure ones don't do.
So let's dive into it. So the first thing that smaller roofing contractors do, and by the way, I'm not going to talk about like business operations, but then there's a ton of thing that that that difference differentiates bigger with with smaller companies, obviously in a bunch of different areas. This channel is all about advertising specifically for the roofing solar industry. So I just want to talk about advertising. So what do smaller advert roofing and solar contractors do that big ones don't do when it comes to advertising? Well, the first thing is that smaller ones rely a lot upon luck, you know, and for example, they don't have any predictable system in place to get leads when they want to. They can't like pay $1 and get X amount of leads for that dollar or $10 or $20 right. But smaller companies, they more often than not are stuck in this old way of advertising and the, you know, like offline marketing methods and print and they rely upon luck.
So you know, for example, word of mouth, you know, that might be their main thing that they were lying upon. They just hope that people are going to talk about their business so that they can get, um, yeah, people who recommend them to get business that way. Or they do like somewhat of a, an old case search engine optimization campaign, SEO and they kind of rank what they don't really know they don't have in a CRM so that they can follow up with people or they take like the easy way out. You know, just signing up with those third party platforms, these lead gen sites that you know, the offer you the world and they sound really good and it's easy. You just sign up and they promise you that you're going to get a ton of leads coming in. But we know that that never happens, right?
You get, you get you, you might get leads, but they're going to cost you fortune. So they're going to cost you like $830 per lead, sometimes even more. And those leads are duplicate, right? So you will not be the only contractor who received those leads, but also like three or four or five other contractors will receive the same lead. So that you will have to compete with that. But that's really the biggest difference that I see when I talked to two roofers on the phone or interact with them and talk with them as that smaller ones. They rely a lot upon luck. They don't have any predictable system in place for the business. They're kind of stuck in this old way of advertising while the bigger roofing companies and the solar companies as well that has really taking their business to that next level. They've kind of just sat down and thought just to kind of adapting and, and I'm moving away from this luck based advertising and started to implement the system for their business that they can rely upon that is predictable.
That they know that if we put in X amount of dollars into this system, we're going to get this amount of leads and we want to do both direct response advertising so that we can track everything. But we also want to utilize social media and um, you know, Instagram and Facebook and YouTube to share our brand. You know, they create high quality videos that they can share across all platforms. Not only to like sell, sell, sell to people out there on those platforms, but they also want to show who they are. You know, they want to show their face, they want to show their brand, they want to show their work, they want to show some testimonials, they want to evoke some type of emotion into the homeowners in their area just to build their brand. And it's, you know, it's way easier than ever to do that right now since we have, you know, social media and everyone is staring down in their phones and you can like show people videos on the internet right now with paid traffic, super easy and super cheap.
It's, you know, you don't need a TV station anymore that's going to cost you thousands of dollars. You can just create high quality content and then put that in front of people in your area to build your brand and to also have a predictable sales system in place. And when you mix those two, you know, you'd just get crazy results. And that's what I do for my business. And that's what the people, the roofing is all the contractors that I work with. Dave, they do that as well. And that's how we just take your business to that next level, having a predictable sales system in place with direct response advertising. And then you mix that with branding on social media, on YouTube and Instagram and Facebook. And that's just how you escaped the luck based advertising and you take control, you own your own advertising system and you can just take it to that next level.
So that's the first thing, the biggest difference. The second biggest difference kind of ties in with the first one and that is that six and seven figure roofers or solar contractors, they more often not they, they kind of, they don't want to adapt, they don't want to change. And this is like a mindset thing, right? They, they, they, they are stuck in this old way of advertising, you know, direct them offline marketing methods like print and TV and radio and word of mouth and so forth. And now the past years, you know, you know, social media blowing up internet have blown up. Everything is online, everything is pixels and on the phone and they're kind of scared about that. And the smaller roofing companies that are kind of struggling now, they don't want to adapt into that. They don't want to change because they just feel that it's so comfortable to, to always to continue to do what they've always done.
But the roofers, the eight figure roofers and the ones who really scale quickly right now, that is the business people and the the, the business owners who adapt. They understand that, okay guys, like everyone is staring down their phone right now. The phone is the new TV. The phone is the new radio. The phone is the new magazine. The phone is the new new source. The phone is the new shopping mall. You know, everything is in the phone. Everyone is doing their research and shopping on the phone. How do we get attention from homeowners in our ear area on the phone? How do we appear on the phone? That's what you need to, that's the mindset that you need to shift to how do we adapt and how do we embrace this technology and this huge change that is going on right now. And the ones who just accept that and are not afraid of adapting and moving into this technology world, they are the ones that just scale so quickly right now.
Because the truth is that most roofing is all the contractors. They're stuck there do the same thing over and over and over again. And you know, it's like the 80 20 rule, right? I would say it's like nine to five, five rule, the 5% to adapt. They're just going to have that huge leverage right now. They are the one who going to cash in and grow their business to that next level. Right? And if you want to know more about how you can do both branding and direct response advertising and just evolve in this new technology world and this social media world, you know where to go. Okay. So that's the second thing. The third thing, which is also a mindset thing, is that smaller roofing companies, you know, the ones that are stuck more often than not, and this is not done. Do not only, you know, offer roofers and solar companies this, um, this is for every business out there and this is the ones who struggle to, to change right now in the ones who struggle to, to take their business to that next level.
They're often quite indecisive and they blame everyone else than themselves right now. This is a huge thing that I had learned myself personally as well, is that I needed to understand that, Hey, I'm the only one who's responsible for my results and my successes and my failures. I cannot blame anyone else. It's all mean. So if you, if you're struggling in your business right now or if you're struggling in your life, you have no one to blame. It's all up to you. And when you accept that, it's super empowering as well because you know that, Hey, I have control over everything. I can change everything. So, and the indecisive part about this as well is that it's a huge thing every single time when I'm fortunate enough to talk with, you know, business people that are really, really good and they've built really, really good businesses.
And, um, you know, the one single thing that I take take from those conversations is that they just, they have done so much, uh, they know their industry so well. Uh, they read a lot. They're educate themselves a lot so they can, they can take decisions quickly. They just, they pump their brains with a lot of knowledge and, and, and um, and yeah, a lot of knowledge and, you know, leaders are readers, so they put a lot of information into their brain or into their mind. So they have a lot, um, a lot of information to pull from. And then they just, they just follow their gut feeling. They know when they find something that they want to do so they don't think about it for a long time. They know what they're looking for. And when they find something that is aligned with that, they just take action.
Let's go, let's try it. Let's do it. So, and I think I am a huge thinker. I always start, I always used to procrastinate things because I wasn't sure. Then I started to leave, read more and learn more, listen to other people, more to, to kind of get my brain in line what I wanted to do. And now if I just find something that is in line with that and that I get good gut feeling from and just go for it and it has just shot up your brain and do it. So that is a huge thing as well. And social media, Facebook advertising, that's something that you definitely should do for your roofing or solar business or whatever business new mom might've or running because that's where the whole market is. Everyone is in their phone. So why shouldn't you be appearing there for your target market?
Right? So that's it for today's video. So to just sum it up, you know, don't rely upon luck. You need to adapt. And uh, you know, Whoa, Whoa, hold yourself accountable. Don't blame anyone else and educate yourself. Read more and just take decisions quickly and stick to them. So that would be it.
