Here are seven skills that will grow your roofing or solar business.

Let know. So let's dive into today's video. I have a list here in front of me. I want to cover seven skills that will help you to scale your roof in the solar business online in 2019 2020 and beyond. So let's dive right into it. So the first point that I have, the first skill that you need to master right now is retargeting.
So what is retargeting? Well, what do you even do online nowadays when it comes to advertising? Is that when someone sees your website just once or they go to your Facebook business page, just ones or heck, if they see a YouTube video from you just want, if you have those or if they, um, you know, just see one of your ads online. Just once. What you can do with those people is that, is that you can re target them and you have hundred percent experienced. We're targeting yourself. If you've ever been online, which I'm sure you have, you're not watching this video if you're not paying online, but for example, you go to Amazon, you look at a pair of shoes or a new blender or whatever now might be right. Then as you browse on the next day or just a couple of hours later, you start to see those Nike shoes all over the place.
You see banner ads, you see videos, you see a bunch of ads for those specific shoes, and that means that they are retargeting. They want to bring you back to, to the, to the eCommerce website so that you can buy them because they know that you're interested in them because you're vulnerable. Watched them. So we're gonna dig are gonna retarget you and continue to show you those shoes, uh, so that you are more likely to buy them, right? And that's what you can do for your, your roof roofing, the solar business right now you can, you should do retargeting. If you're not doing retargeting, it's stupid. You know, retargeting is one of the cheapest ways to do advertising online right now. And it's the most powerful one because you're only showing ads to people that have already shown interest in your business and it's called a warm retargeting.
You're showing ads to people that are warmed up, right? And cold ads are more expensive because you're showing people, you're showing ads to people that I'm never seen around the corner that's called cold ads. That's more expensive because you're basically going to Google or Facebook and asking them, Hey, can you show my ads to people that are looking for a new roof or looking for solar panels. That's cold traffic, that's more expensive. But when you do retargeting and when it's called warm traffic and when you're only showing ads to people that already know who you are, it's less expensive. So there's no reason why you shouldn't do retargeting. So yeah, learn how to do retargeting on social media and if you can, and you should do retargeting with branding videos about the business because that's just kind of scan your business on all levels. We're going to build your brand.
People are gonna know more about your business and they're the sales process going to be easier and easier and easier to. We're not doing retargeting. We are business. Learn how to do it right now. There's no time to do two ways, right? So that's the first thing. Learn how to do their retargeting. The second thing is brand yourself on social media and that ties together with the first one. Retargeting. The branding on social media right now is super powerful. Why gives up this thing just the last couple of years? Everyone is watching this thing all the time. You can't even compare it two to five years ago. If you, if you compare it today, how many people would watch this thing today compared to just four years ago? It's insane. It's a huge difference. So if you're still doing advertising on that thing over there, the TV we're doing direct mail campaigns or are you utilizing lead generation sites in a home advisor and all those and if you're not doing any branding and all like what are you doing?
Why do you need to do branding? You need to be on social media. But the funny thing is that most roofing and solar contractors, they're still on Google, they're still on, on the home advisor is still doing direct mail campaigns. They're still doing TV and radio commercials and then they're wondering like, why don't my business grow? Because no one is pretty much doing Facebook advertising, Facebook and Instagram advertising right now the competition of Facebook therefore is a lot lower. Pretty much no roofers doing Facebook advertising the right way, having it in a direct response, advertising campaigns that up, doing retargeting, all of that. So yeah, you need to be on social media and you need to do branding on social media or through branding mixed with direct response side. And the best way to do branding or sort of a neither right now, is to create high quality videos for your business for branding purposes.
Then learn how to share that. For example, with retargeting, share those videos in your state or in your area so that homeowners know about you. And then more more than that, they start to like you, they start to trust you and if you do branding on social media the right way and you start to show those videos to people in your area, do you think they're more likely to hire you to do the job or just a competitor competitor that is not doing branding, obviously are going to choose you if you're doing advertising online the right way right now on this thing, you need to learn how to do branding on social media. That's the second thing. The third thing is that you need to learn how to do direct response ad this direct response advertising online. So there's, there's really like two camps when it comes to advertising direct response.
You can track them. The thing you are selling a free estimate in your ads, more often than not a little bit longer copy, you have an image and the headline that's direct response ads. You are driving that traffic to a opt in form. For example, people can click on that. For FPS met, they are taking to an opt in form where they put in the name, email, phone number, address for [inaudible]. You save that information into a CRM system, then you have them in your online sales system, right? Then you call them, you, you, um, uh, you, uh, you're trying to set an appointment, so forth. You, you qualify them obviously and you go and meet them and hopefully they sign up as a customer, right? So you need to do direct response ads mixed with branding ads on social media. Super important. And the results are insane. You know, one of our customers as a solar contractor that we're not doing any type of online advertising. They started to utilize Facebook ads and Instagram ads together with our system. They went from low seven figures to eight figures in less than 90 days and we're having video testimonials from them and the bristles are just insane. We helped another roof to double his eight figure business as well, reducing his cost per lead with over 75% we have a testimonial from them as well, so make sure to check that out if that interests you. So that's the third thing. Learn how to do direct response ads. Uh, and you should do Brandon as well. The fourth thing is that you need to have an online sales system in place. We roofing this all the business. If you're not having an online Singh system in place for your business right now, it's like, yeah, that's something you need to fix.
Some roofers I talked to the day don't even have a website and they're wondering why, why they're not going efficiently enough. You need a website. But more than that you need an online sales system. When you get traffic to your website, when visitors and homeowners in your area check you out online, whether that's your Facebook business page or your website, you need to have a system in place or that you can so that they can take any type of action so that they can actually do business with you. If I go to a website and it's hard for me to, to contact them or um, you know, if it's just a struggle to, to get in contact with them because I want to talk to them because I, I make interest in, in doing business with them. If it's, if that process is hard for me as a customer, I'm just going to leave.
I'm just going to take another one that is lots, lot easier. So if you're not having an online sales system and a process in place for your business right now, you need to fix that. And what what I mean by that on vinyl nine sales system is pretty much need to have a CRM system in place. Uh, you need to connect that to your ads. So when someone requested free estimates, you can put them into the CRM system automatically. You don't have to do that manually. So that process is pretty much automated. We show you how to automate the entire process after that as well. How do you follow up with people? How do you send out the leader information to your sales team and how do you send out the confirmation text or email to the homeowner immediately when they request a fee estimate and how do you, how do you tie all of that together?
And the beautiful thing about right now with technology is that you can set up the system just once. We can put marketing automation in place as it's called, we can automate the entire process. You do that just once. Then you can just drive traffic to your website. With ads and everything is just handling itself. So it's, it's insane. But back to basics, you need an online sale system in place and you can learn how to do that head over to our website. So that's the fourth thing. The fifth thing tastes together with the fourth one. And the fifth skill that you need to know is marketing automation. So, and I, I have already touched them on that just recently, but what marketing automation is, it's pretty self explanatory. You know marketing automation, you can automate marketing a lot nowadays. You don't have to do any manual work, you don't have to sit there and print direct mail campaigns.
You don't have to put people into your CRM system manually. You don't have to follow up with people manually. You can systemize your business and automated with marketing automation. But utilizing an online sales system, utilize marketing automation and your entire advertising campaign is pretty much going to run for itself. The only thing you have to do manually is to receive the leads and call the home owner, qualifying them and set an appointment. And again, this might sound super confusing, like how am I going to do all of this? You just need someone to show you exactly how to do it step by step and that's what we're all about. When you know how to do it, when you know when you get the instructions to put together the Ikea furniture, it's super, super easy, right? You just need someone to show you how to do it.
You just need a manual and we just need the blueprint or set everything together and that's what we help you with. But marketing automation is beautiful. It's going to automate your business, kind of systemize your business. You're going to save a ton of time. You're going to see with a ton of money as well because you don't necessarily have to hire marketing agency ever again and you don't have to have a big in house team doing the work for you. You can just utilize computers, marketing automation, you know the computer is never going to complain. It can work 24 seven like a workhorse or even better than a worker's right? I've got to work 24, seven for you. You're going to run all the time. Uh, they're never going to complain and uh, they're always going to be there for you. So marketing automation is beautiful and if you're not utilizing that for your business right now for your witness, all the business, and you want to take your business to the next level, we should definitely do check it out.
And the sixth thing is Facebook is better than Google for the roofing solar industry. Yup, that's true. Facebook is a lot better than Google when it comes to advertising and the roofing and solar industry. Why? Very, very simple. Would you say that most rivers are doing Google or Facebook? Google, right? Pretty much everyone is doing Google. Everyone's doing Google ads. Everyone is doing Google SEO. Everyone's doing Google. Yeah, that's true. It's super everywhere. It's super popular. Everyone is doing it because of that. It's very competitive. It's very expensive and it takes a long time to get results or a lottery. A lot of roofers doing social media advertising. Facebook right now. Nope, not a lot of people. Some of them have some Facebook business page and my chairs, some posts, but pretty much no one is doing Facebook advertising can be so [inaudible] sophisticated automated advertising campaign on Facebook the right way. So the competition there is pretty much nonexistent.
So yeah. Why would you do Google and compete when you can do Facebook and I pretty much have no competition. You're just going to run laps or under competition if you figure out how to do Facebook advertising and social media advertising the right way. Just saying and how do I know then, because I've experienced it, I've seen roofing as all the contractors go from low seven to eight figures in less than 90 days. I've seen them reduce the cost of lead with over 75 to 80% I've seen them to double or a driven business by escaping Google and home advisor and all of that and moving over to Facebook and Instagram and doing branding and direct response on social media. I've seen it and I've heard from people that have experienced it as well. So Facebook does a lot better and Google this thing and if you don't believe me, test try it out.
So, and then the sick, the seventh and final thing, the seventh skill that you need to figure out, we roof in a solid business if you want to scale it to that next level and just run laps around the competition is that you need to learn how to become omnipresent online today. And I love that expression. How do you become omnipresent? How do you peer everywhere all the time for homeowners in your area or in your state? How do you appear everywhere all the time? We are target market. Do you think that your business would scale a lot faster and love better and lot quicker if everyone in your target market saw you all the time, every single day, everywhere, of course. And on this one really taste together with the first one on retargeting, right? So retargeting and becoming omnipresent, they go hand in hand. You need to learn how to drive traffic into your website.
Have that pixel installed on your website, on your Facebook business page. Once they've seen you. Once you need to be become everywhere for them. So if they come from Facebook to your website, now you need to be on, on YouTube and an Instagram and Facebook, you can do Google display network ads as well. And again, it might sound super confusing, but I'm sure that if you understand the power of it, imagine if you could become omnipresent online. It might sound confusing, but it's really, really easily. You just need someone to show you how to do it. Once you set it up, it's pretty much a a plug and play thing. You do it once and then it's therefore we just need to set it up. Once set up from gets pretty much are targeting is super easy and it's super cheap as mentioned, but it's like the most powerful advertising way that you can do right.
So there's no reason why you shouldn't be retargeting and become only present in your area. So that's it for today's video that all of the seven skills, so let's just cover them real quick.
