Here are five steps to get exclusive roofing and solar leads.
Hey guys, Max Perzon here. But for today's video, I want to talk about five steps that you should go through to get exclusive high quality leads. We are roof from the solar contractor business, so let's dive into it. So the first thing that you need to figure out is the platform and the traffic. And what do I mean by that?
Well, if you're going to start to generate exclusive leads for your roof and sold the business, you need traffic. You need to get your ads out there somewhere and you need to showing your ads on some type of platform. Right? And we've tested everything. I've done SEO, I don't, don't Google paper click. You know I, I've heard from people doing those legions sites in a home advisor and all that nonsense. I've heard from people, you know, doing TV and radio commercials and print and door knocking and call centers. We've tested Facebook, we've tested Instagram, we've tested LinkedIn, formed the commercial part of things. I've tested all of them. Right? And what's the best one? Well, for the roofing and solar industry, the absolute best one is Facebook right now. Why? Because everyone is doing Google, everyone is doing PaperClick, everyone is doing SEO on Google.
So when we move over to Facebook and utilize that platform, we can get higher quality leads, we can get cheaper leads and yeah, we can do the branding part on those social media platforms as well. So if you want high quality traffic flowing into your business and like real homeowners that are actually actively searching for your services in your area, if you want that traffic coming to your business and you want, you want to come work Burt them into real customers, you should move over to Facebook and Instagram. Mainly Facebook. You can retarget people on Instagram. That's good as well. But we have found the best results from doing mainly Facebook advertising campaigns. I'm not talking about like organic posts and posting a video and there's pencil stuff on your Facebook business page. No, I'm talking about real advertising campaign that you build on the business Facebook manager.
So that's really the first thing you need to figure out the platform. You need to figure out the traffic. That's part number one and I recommend Facebook part number two is that you need to figure out the message and what do I mean by that? Well, when you start to do advertising online and when you're going to build advertising campaigns on Facebook, you need to create an ad. You need to create some type of ad. You need to have a headline, you need to have a body copy text and you need to have some of image or some type of video rights. So what are you going to place in your message? Well, this is a little bit tricky. I'm a coach in life. You know, we've been doing this for years now, so we have a really good message in place. The place that we help our customers with and that I run myself as well.
Uh, but really you need to break it down to, you need to pitch something right? And you need homeowners, you want to sell that initial click. You want people that see your ad factually first of all notice it, and then you want them to take an action. You want the response from them. And that's what we call direct response advertising. You want some and homeowner in your area. We should catch their attention first of all, with a good image or a good video and good headline. And then we'll want to have a great body copy that tells them to do something. And that's called direct response advertising. And for example, you know you want them to opt in with name, email, phone number and address for a free estimate. And then we can in in a bunch of different ways, we can make that message a lot more exciting.
And that's exactly what we teach you all to do at lead truth and not calm. So if you want three examples of that and free training, make sure to head over to our website. But that's the second thing you really need to get the message right when you move over to Facebook, they've decided to utilize that platform to get traffic from Facebook. You need to figure out the message, the headline, the body copy, the call to action, you know, what are they actually going to do? And then you need to the images or the videos, what you're going to choose. Slate. This third thing is targeting. So on Facebook, unlike Google, Facebook is, it's just a social media platform, right? It's just a place where people go on their phones or their computers and they look around, you know, the browse around in different Facebook groups.
They're interact with their friends and family, their share videos to share images, the utilize the messenger app to, to talk to their friends back and forth. They're also on Instagram watching images and Facebook own Instagram as well. So that's just one and the same really, you know, Instagram is, it's a huge platform as well to share images and videos to follow the people that you, um, that you look up to or that you're getting inspired from. You know, a bunch of different things, right? So it's not a search engine like Google you on Google, people just go to searching and with search where things, and if you're in the roofing or solar industry and if you're a contractor, obviously you want to appear when people search for a roofer in your area, right? But when we move over to Facebook, we can't really pay for a keyword.
We can't really pay Facebook for different, for certain phrase, right? Because people don't go to Facebook and actually search or a roofer, right? They just hang around on Facebook and it's our job as the advertiser to appear to the right person on in their feed is actually. So if there is a homeowner in your area that are actively searching for your services, you want to be able to serve them an ad. You want us show them an ad and give them that free offer, that free estimate offer, right? So the is super important when you move over to Facebook, Instagram and social media advertising and you need to know how to do the targeting the right way. And the way you do that on Facebook is that you target different audiences. So when you sign up with a business, um, the business man, the face from business manager, and when you start to build your campaigns and there's a certain way that you must be in your campaigns to do it the right way.
And most people have no idea how to do it. But when you learn how to do it, you will be able to target different audiences and test different audiences. And there are certain audience specifically for the roofing and solar industry that are working really, really good right now. And if you want to know what those audiences are, you can head over to our website and we talk more about that, exactly what audiences you should test first, what you should do. Then what type of results you should have, how do you track the results and all of that good stuff. But on, on Facebook, if you want to get high quality leads for roof, a solid contractor business, the targeting is super important, but so is the message and so is the actual platform and the traffic as well, right? So that's the third thing. The fourth thing is the conversion system or the online sales system.
Like when you moved over to Facebook and when you have like started to build out your campaigns, you have figured out the message, you're figuring out the images were figured out, the headline, the body copy, and you've also figured out the targeting, right? You have all of that in place and now you go live with your campaign and you start to generate leads or homeowners in your area that are interested in your business, but what do you do then? This is also a huge part of the entire process. Like what do you do with them or just going to save the leads into your email inbox or are you going to save them into a spreadsheet, an Excel sheet, like how do Facebook deliver the meats to you? You do they send it to you or do you do the just save it somewhere or how do you do that?
Do you call them then or how do you spend up walk with them because you have to follow up with people and how are you going to save them into a CRM system or Google going to do that manually. Like it's a bunch of different questions and people don't think about this. So the online sales system or the conversion system, the system, that's like the heart of the entire process. The online sales system is also super important to figure out. And we have tested, I've tested like pretty much all CRM system Altair out there. I tested, you know, all types of different marketing automation types of system, you know, played around with big data and AI and in market leads and a bunch of it might not mean anything to you, but trust me, I've, you know, I've been helping roofing a solid contract finish now for over three years and I've, and before that I've been helping other industries with uh, with SEO and Facebook ads and everything, right?
So I have tested a lot of different things both for customers but also for myself and everything that I, this from different industries, you need different conversion systems. You can have the same sales conversion system for a roofing contractor as you're going to have for an eight marketing agencies like myself, the process different. So that's why you shouldn't like hire a general advertising agency out there that, that is helping everyone with everything because they don't know these things that I'm talking about. It's and if they, if they're going to try to help you to figure all of this out, it's going to take them a ton of time and you're going to be there. They're there test and peg right there, whatever you call it in English, so the conversion system is super important because the cool thing now in 2020 and beyond is that we can set up super sophisticated systems by utilizing stuff like this computers so we can automate, we can automate like 95% of everything so we can put people into the CRM system fully automated.
We can send out confirmation emails from text messages to the homeowners, will the automated what gets send out the lead information to your sales reps will be automated so that they can just call the homeowner immediately and and qualify them and set an appointment and do all of that good stuff. Right. Then we can also have the entire followup process fully automated by computers. You don't have to sit there and send out direct mail campaigns trying to follow up with people or trying to do everything manually. You don't have to do that anymore. You can automate, automate, automate, automate, automate. It's the name of the game. But the truth is that not a lot of people knows how to do it, but in reality it is really simple to do it. You don't need to be any technician or any computer science genius that are great softwares out there today, which is basically you need anything.
I had to click the bottom foam bone bone and you're ready to go. You just need someone to show you how to set it up for your business so that you own the conversion system yourself and that exactly what we do at the intro or call. So that's point number four. You need a conversion system in place. And the fifth thing, the fifth and final thing, and probably the most important thing actually, is that you need to do branding as well because when you move over to Facebook and Instagram and all social media platforms, it gives you a huge opportunity to do branding. You don't need to pay those team platforms or these TV channels thousands of dollars right now to to share your videos and share your commercials and so forth. Why would you share your videos on that thing when everyone is watching this, it's like, yeah, but you know, I think my target market is still watching that thing.
Well, that's not true. Everyone is on Facebook like small kids to elderly people are on Facebook every single day. My grandmother is on Facebook every single day. Why? Because her grandchildren is on Facebook every single days. She likes to interact with them, see their images, see their videos. She likes to join Facebook groups about cooking and about pets. You know everyone is on Facebook. It's like if you don't believe that yet, you're just going to fool yourself because things are moving towards this. It's moving away from the TV. It's moving into this, so if you ignore this, you're, you're just shooting yourself in the foot. You two years and just one or two years or in five years that thing is way, way gone and every, it's just moving into this more and more and more and more and more. So you need to do branding on this. Then you need to know how to distribute your brand and content on this thing and you need to know how to do that with paid traffic.
If you just post something organically, right now on Facebook and Instagram, the reach is like, it doesn't even almost doesn't even get seen. No. The the organic reach on Facebook, even if you have a ton of followers, even if you have subscribers on YouTube, the reach is not the best anymore. You need to know how to distribute your branding content with pay traffic and the best part is that just distributing branding content on those social media platforms right now with pay traffic to get used to getting real high quality views from homeowners in your area that are actively searching for your services that are in market for your services. Distributing those branding videos is cheap. Is dirt cheap? It doesn't even compare to the TV and it's like a million times more powerful. So let's just do a quick recap. First of all, you need the platform.
You need to move over to Facebook and Instagram. That's my recommendation. Second thing, you need to figure out the message. Third thing, you need to know how to do the targeting. How do you actually target people in your area on Facebook that are actively searching for your services? The fourth thing, you need a conversion system in place. And the fifth thing is that you need to start doing branding on those platforms as well. If you can figure all of that out and if you can start to implement it to your business, you're going to have a lot of fun. I can, I can promise you that one of our customers went from low seven figures, eight figures in less than three months. That's insane. We have another customer who went from, he doubled his eight figure business by doing this, by moving away from, um, you know, TV commercials, radio commercials, Google, and ultimately away from those lead gen sites, home advisor, right?
Getting duplicate leads for insane prices. They're still doing organic SEO because they have been doing that for a long time. So they have good rankings and they just keep that ball rolling rolling, which is great. But they're putting lightning bolt like they moved away from pretty much all of that, putting all of their advertising dollars into Facebook, into a system like this. Figure out the message, the medium, you know, the, uh, the targeting, the audience, uh, the branding of the commercial systems, they, they have that in place now and they have just look. So it's the real deal, man. And, and you know, with AI and machine learning, big data and marketing automation, all of these things, it's not going away. And this thing is definitely not going away. It's coming in new forms every year, but you know, the TV is long gone. This thing, it's insane.
It's scary how much people spend time on this thing. It's insane. So if you're not branding your over advertising on this thing for your business, um, yeah, you're missing out big time or worse than that, you're probably not going to be to be, to be in business for a long period of time. If you don't learn to adapt, learn to adapt into this. It's just the truth of it. So there's no excuses anymore. I know. I can't figure that out. No, I'm not a tech guy. Well, too bad for you if you don't figure it out, your competitors are figuring out this just are just going to dominate you. So, but again, the competition right now or not a lot of people have figured this out yet. So if you want to be like, if you want to figure this out, like now's the time.
Yesterday was the time, a year from a year ago was the right time. So the second best time is now. Make sure that you figure these things out and implement it for your business and don't, don't outsource it. Set it up for your business so that you own and control everything so that you can scale your business to whatever point you want to. That's the best thing. Don't hire a huge marketing agency or a huge team to do it for you. We have computers, we have AI, machine learning, big data marketing automation that can run for you. 24 seven three 65 they don't complain and they do the work 10 times better and they can multitask like a fricking computer because it is computed.
